My son was literally licking the cheese off the Pizza Hut ad on TV, so tried this one. Used whole wheat, frozen chicken nuggets, onion and tomatoes.
What I used: Makes 2 medium pizzas.
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 and 1/2tsp instant dry yeast.
2tsp honey
1/2tsp salt
2tsp olive oil
1cup warm water
2tsp finely chopped cilantro
Topping:
1Tbsp pizza sauce
1 cup paneer (Indian cheese) grated
1 cup mozzarella cheese
3 to 4 chicken nuggets or 1/2 cup boneless chicken
1/2 cup onion sliced lengthwise
1/2 cup large tomato rings
1/2tsp pepper powder
1/2tsp cumin powder
Salt to taste
Mix yeast and honey with a little water, and set aside till it foams up and doubles.
In a food processor, blend flour, yeast mixture, salt, and oil, give it a few pulses, now add warm water and chopped cilantro. Blend to a soft dough.
Divide it into two parts, Make two dough balls, place one a floured counter top and cover it with a moist cloth for 15 minutes, it will double in size. Beat it down and stretch it on a greased pan. Flatten it out according to your liking.
I used just one and froze the other part. Grease the dough ball with a little olive oil, wrap it in cling foil and freeze. Stays good for 15 days, Defrost 2 hours before using. You may also refrigerate it the same way for up to 2 days.
Spread pizza sauce on the top, leaving an inch around for the crust to brown, add a generous layer of grated mozzarella cheese. Add vegetables and meat of your choice. Spray a little oil over it, if you want the veggies to brown a bit. I used tomatoes, onion, and sliced frozen chicken nuggets. Sprinkle cumin, pepper and salt.
It goes into a hot oven of 420degree for 15 minutes, then at 375 for the next 5-7 minutes. Turned out good, the dough was soft, and the cheese was cheeezy :-)
