What do you do when all the avocados are ripe at once? You make dip and store it :-)
There are many variations to the avocado dip, here is my version.
Ingredients:
- 5 ripe avocados
- 2 Tbsp lime juice
- Salt and pepper to taste.
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- Mash the avocados: Scoop the flesh of ripe avocados into a bowl and mash with a fork, potato masher or a food processor to your desired consistency.
- Stir in lime juice, salt, and pepper.
- Mix and serve: Mix everything well and adjust seasoning to taste. Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil. Serve immediately or chill before serving.
Tips:
- Prevent browning: To prevent browning, cover the dip with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface to minimize contact with air. Adding extra lime or lemon juice can also help.
- Consistency: The consistency can range from chunky to smooth, depending on how much you mash the avocados.
- Serving suggestions: Serve avocado dip with toast, crackers, egg, tortilla chips, raw vegetables, crackers, or as a spread on sandwiches or wraps. Enjoy!
