Whole wheat waffle recipe

Whole wheat is a great way to switch to a healthier lifestyle. For year now, I have been consciously swapping AP flour/maida with whole wheat. I can tell that my body is getting enough fiber, and I don’t feel lethargic. The main reason I don’t eat store bought pizza, is its loaded with AP flour and gets you so full, not to mention, makes you feel so lazy after. 

So here is the recipe. 

Yields10-12 4 inch waffles

Ingredients

1 cup organic whole wheat flour

2 eggs at room temperature

1 cup milk at room temperature 

2 Tbsp brown sugar

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla essence

2 Tbsp butter, warm and melted

Method:

Mix the dry ingredients, set aside

Mix the wet ingredients, whisk well to combine. Pour the wet into the dry ingredients and combine well to get rid of lumps. Let us sit for 5-7 minutes. In the meantime get the waffle grill nice and hot. 

Pour a ladle of waffle batter into the hot grill just a little below the brim lime and close. Let cook till golden brown. 

Serve with honey, maple syrup, butter, berries or fruit of your choice. Enjoy!
