Easy naan recipe without yeast
Here is a quick and easy naan recipe we can make without using yeast. You may use this recipe to make whole wheat naans. Just use whole wheat flour instead of maida.

Makes 8 naans

Ingredients:
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup AP flour/ maida
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg (optional)
1 cup yogurt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup lukewarm water

Directions:
Mix yogurt, baking soda, powder, salt, sugar and water in a bowl. Whisk and set aside. In a large bowl, mix flour and the yogurt mixture to form a dough. If the mixture requires more liquid, add some warm water, knead to a form a soft dough. Let it sit covered for 15 mins to an hour

Dough topping:
A few spoons oil
1/4 cup chopped coriander

Add a tsp oil and chopped coriander/cilantro over the risen dough; punch it down and knead well. Divide the dough into 8 portions. Make balls, and roll out on a dusted flour surface to a round or oval shape.

Add a tsp of water on the top surface of the naan and smear well.  Place the watered side bottom down on a hot dry skillet/tawa. Let its cook until bubbles form. As the naan starts to bubble, flip the skillet over to the open flame and let it cook to a golden brown.

Naan topping:
1/4 cup melted butter
4-6 garlic cloves mashed or finely chopped
1/4 cup chopped cilantro

Make garlic oil by combining the the above ingredients. Brush the cooked naan with garlic oil. Serve hot with curries. Enjoy!
