Just a little help handling the oven, and your kid can bake this soft, yummy chocolate cake like a pro!
Makes 1-8 inch round cake
Dry ingredients:
1 cup sugar(brown or white), powdered
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp instant coffee powder
Combine them all together in a bowl and mix well to get rid of lumps. Set aside.
Wet ingredients:
2 eggs, at room temperature
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup warm water
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp vinegar
Whisk all the wet ingredients together, in a bowl.
Preheat the oven for 10 minutes.
Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and combine well.
Prep an 8 inch round pan by greasing it with a teaspoon of butter and a few teaspoons of flour. to double coat it.
Pour the batter into a pan and gently tap it to get rid of air bubbles.
Bake at 175 degree C/350 degree F for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely before you dive in. Enjoy!
