Dark cocoa brownies

Makes 8-2x2 inch brownies

3 eggs, at room temperature
1 and ½ cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup whole wheat flour
¼  cup dark unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup milk chocolate chips, melted
½ cup walnuts, crumbled (optional)
1 tsp vanilla extract
¾ cup vegetable oil
½ tsp salt
A pinch of baking soda

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Lightly grease and line an 8x8 inch square pan with parchment paper.
Sift the flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda together. Set aside
Combine eggs, sugar and oil together and beat with a fork until the sugar dissolves.
Gently fold in the flour mixture to this, with a spatula. Add the melted chocolate and walnuts, stir to combine.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 20-24 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool and cut into squares, enjoy!
