Prems Grama Bhojanam - A classic comeback to millets!

It just so happened that my cousin took me to an opening ceremony. It was Prem's Grama Bhojanam that opened its doors to the Bengaluru South crowd, in Jayanagar.
They have it successfully running in Chennai. The new restaurant per se was unique. It was like visiting your grandma's home for lunch!

The flavours were hands down, homemade. Each and every dish was South Indian, with a twist. They were made using millets! Pongal, Bisi bele bath, Rotti, Dose, Utthappa, Drumstick soup, and this very delicious halwa made with black rice and palm jaggery had to be the icing on the cake!

You could tell, by tasting each dish, that a lot of care had gone into planning and prepping the menu.  Their concept to bring about back-to-roots nutrition was very well thought, tested and blended with special little ingredients.

I must point out that my son said, "Ma, the water tastes like theertha". Of course, it did! It had a soothing after effect of tulsi/holy basil.

This place will really get you thinking and wanting to come home and start cooking with millets! So, people, go and check out this eatery and let us know you think.
