Dahi puri - Yogurt and peas stuffed puris

My most favorite snack in the whole wide world! Little puffed puris, stuffed with sweet, sour and spicy flavors, my mouth is watering as I write the recipe now. As I say, these take more time assemble, and a few seconds to disappear into your mouth.

What you need: Serves 4, but seriously, you can eat them all by yourself :-)
A box of puris - has approx. 12 to 15 (homemade or store bought)
1 cup boiled mashed potatoes
1 cup boiled peas/chickpeas/green grams
1 cup sev, a crunchy lentil snack
1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
1/2 cup red onions, finely chopped

1/2 cup tomatoes if you like
1/4 cup cilantro chili chutney
1/4 cup date-tamarind sweet chutney
2 cups thick full fat yogurt, whisked with a pinch of salt and sugar.
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp chaat masala powder
1 tsp cumin powder

You can pick up the chutneys, puris and sev at the Indian store or make them at home.

Soak the dry peas/chickpeas/green grams overnight. Drain. Cook them in ample water and 1/2 tsp salt until they are soft. Drain and set aside.

Prep all the veggies, and get all the chutneys, and puris on a table, ready to assemble.

Crack a hole in the puffed puris, add 1/2 tsp boiled peas, some mashed potatoes, top it with onions. Pour a generous serving of green and tamarind chutney. top it with a dollop of whisked yogurt. Spread a pinch of chili powder, cumin and chaat powders.

Top it with sev, tomatoes and a final garnish of cilantro. Try to share it with others if  have the ability to resist it. Enjoy!
