Bhel Puri - Crunchy tangy spicy puffed rice

Low in calories, and a treat to your mouth. Here is a crunchy healthy snack bursting with sweetness, a little tang and spice.

My most favorite snack, little puffed puris, stuffed with sweet, sour and spicy flavors, my mouth is watering as I write the recipe now. As I say, these take more time assemble, and a few seconds to disappear into your mouth.

What you need: Serves 4
4 cups of puffed rice
1/2 cup red onions, finely chopped
1/2 cup tomatoes diced
1/4 finely chopped cilantro
2 cups lentil mixture or sev
1/2 cup roasted peanuts, optional
1 Tbsp green chutney - use more of this if you like it spicy
1 Tbsp tamarind chutney - use more of this if you like it sweet and tangy.
1/2 tsp red chili powder
A pinch of chaat masala
1/2 tsp lime juice
Salt to taste

Assemble all the ingredients in separate bowls, until it is time to serve. When you are ready - take a large bowl, toss in the puffed rice, onions, tomatoes, sev, cilantro and peanuts. Toss them together. Sprinkle the desired amount of chili powder, chaat masala, salt, green and tamarind chutney. Lastly a few drops of fresh squeezed lime juice. Toss and serve immediately. The puffed rice gets soggy once the chutneys are tossed in with them. Enjoy!
